The promoter
Promoters are identified as surf schools, surf clubs or surf therapy programs that aim at promoting adapted surf activities for children with autism in an organized and sustainable way over time. Promoters are responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of their surf therapy activities for clients with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Level 1 (G1 TEA).
Duties of promoters:
- Ensure that surf therapy services meet high-quality standards tailored to the needs of clients with G1 TEA.
- Guarantee that their workers, including surf instructors, adhere to occupational safety standards: This includes:
- Compliance with approved occupational training and occupational risk prevention requirements.
- Provision of mutual accident insurance for workers.
- Employment of an external prevention service or another preventive modality in accordance with Law 31/95 on Occupational Risk Prevention for contracted workers.
- Ensure that workers receive specific training on working with individuals with G1 TEA.
- Implement and adapt methodologies proven effective over time for clients with G1 TEA, ensuring that all staff are equipped to provide safe, effective, and educational surf therapy services.
These complementary technical training services can be carried out by promoters specialized in therapeutic surfing of the environment, care centers for people with autism or other experienced actors on this specific training, such as ISTO.
