Training the team

Module 2 focuses on preparing surf schools to deliver surf activities to young people on the autism spectrum by ensuring that their staff is adequately trained. This module supports surf schools in the following ways:

Staff Training: It outlines the necessary training components for staff involved in surf activities, ensuring that they are equipped with the skills required to work effectively with young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Training Requirements: The training must be provided through structured labor and organizational processes. These processes should cover all competencies required for each role, focusing on the prevention of occupational risks as identified in the ESFA guidelines (refer to the relevant section).

This module ensures that staff are well-prepared and knowledgeable about both the specific needs of their participants and the safety protocols essential for effective surf therapy.
