About the course
Welcome to the e-learning course on how to implement a European Safety Framework for inclusive and healthy environment for AUTism (ESFA) in your organisation for surf activities for children with autism grade 1. If you are a surf instructor, the coordinator of adaptive surf activities, the manager of a surf school or a volunteer willing to implement surfing activities for autism (grade 1) characterised by increased safety, this course is for you.
We will be guiding you through the theoretical framework and 3 practical modules for implementation:
1 Organising the team
2 Training the team
3 Delivering the surf activities
What is delivered is a framework, not technical training. It provides awareness for surf workers about the organizational elements that should be present when a surf school organize surf activities for individuals with autism in order to decrease risks. This is fundamental to not only increase occupational safety for surf workers, but also to maximize the benefits of surf activities for children and young people on the autism spectrum.
in this introduction chapter you will also find the download documents for the ESFA - the Theoretical Framework that lays out the foundations of the need for occupational safety in surf activities- and the Manual of Good Practices, these are the main resources for implementation of the ESFA framework.
Because safety does not happen by accident!
